Zimen Quan • Character/Poison Fingers
A fast relaxed style orginating from the shaolin temple
A fast relaxed style orginating from the shaolin temple in the 1700s, ZimenQuan was developed to enable smaller or weaker fighters to defend themselves. Zimen is known for it’s whipping finger strikes (to pull the thread from the opponents shirt), its abilty to make a deflection and counterattack in one motion and the emphasis it places on accurately attacking the opponents weak points.
The style is compact with six exercises, three forms and 18 fighting characters/tactics alongside a heavy emphasis on finger conditioning. Zimenquan gives us the chance to look at the areas of the body most susceptable to damage and the most economical way to do this.
