Xing Yi Quan • Form and Intent Boxing
Emphasis on power generation and crashing through the opponent.
XingYiQuan is seen as one of the three internal arts (Nei Jia). It is a very famous system in China respected for making skilled fighters and also for improving the health. XingYi is mainly a striking system with forms that are outwardly very simple, more like single repetition line drills. The style places a great emphasis on power generation and crashing through the opponent.
Its forms are based on five major strikes (splitting, penetrating crushing, pounding and crossing) and the fighting stratergies of twelve animals (the chicken, alligator, falcon, vulture, horse, tiger, monkey, swallow, snake, dragon, eagle and bear). XingYi enables a study of the interchange of different powers in fighting.
